Artist Art-Science Residency Program 2019

APPLICATIONS OPEN NOW for 6 artist residencies.

CULTURE AT WORK®  is a not for profit Australian Art-Science Research Institute.

The CULTURE AT WORK®  Board and Research Committee includes artists and scientists including Founder Sherryl Ryan, Emeritus Professor Bruce Milthorpe former Dean of Science UTS, and Prof Trevor Bird, former Chief Scientist ICT, CSIRO and professionals from the visual arts sector including Dr Lee-Anne Hall, Director Penrith Regional Gallery, Dr Julie Brooke, artist and lecturer in Visual Art at ANU. CULTURE AT WORK® ‘s mission and vision is to inspire future generations of creative thinkers by connecting visual art and science, technology and learning.

CULTURE AT WORK® is pleased to announce the 2019 program designed for artists interested in collaborating with a scientist, other expert or technology.

The Program

CULTURE AT WORK® call out for 6 artist-in residencies 2019


Artist applications will be reviewed by the Culture at Work Research Committee.

Successful artists will ben allocated a studio space to develop their own art practice culminating in an exhibition or performance or installation at Culture at Work.

Artists are required to have their own Public Liability Insurance (we recommend NAVA) and pay a bond. This will be refunded upon return of the key and studio and gallery

A $300 bond is required refunded upon return of key, and studio and gallery returned to condition it was upon residency and exhibition.

Artists have access to mentoring and curatorial support in their collaboration with scientists or experts on interdisciplinary projects undertaken at CULTURE AT WORK.

Artists exhibit at the ACCELERATOR Gallery as part of the residency or the main gallery.

Applications should include:

– one page project description

– Professional CV

– 2 professional referees

– 3 weblinks to current or relevant projects

– 5 images

– Preference for the month of the year in 2019 should be included in the application.
