Jo Burzynska – CULTURE AT WORK Art-Science Residency 2018
Jo Burzynska is multi-sensory artist whose parallel backgrounds in sound art and professional wine writing have increasingly converged in the production of art at the intersection of the senses. This regularly combines audition and the chemical senses (taste and olfaction), the interaction between and its creative application is also the topic of her current interdisciplinary doctoral research at UNSW Art & Design.

Cadavre Exquis is an exhibition at Culture at Work’s Accelerator Gallery, Pyrmont is curated by Soyoun Kim based on a game. the artists include Jayanto Damanick, David Mills, Ganbold Lundaa, Somchair Charoen and Soyoun. A collaborative project launched by Catherine Croll.

Last Saturday in our art think & play workshop we started to work with our drawbots. Kids created the characters for their drawbots and the adults got the machines wired up. Stay tuned for our 2015 classes.

I’ve worked as a research scientist at the University of Oxford and at the ANU and have published scientific papers on my research into drug resistance in cancer, and on the physiology of cell volume regulation. In my painting practice, I investigate parallels between research in science and in the visual arts.

Kids holiday art workshops

Kids holiday workshops aged 4-12 yrs. The program is art and craft based with a range of activities including painting, printing, construction and drawing. The classes focus on the children’s own creativity and imagination with support in skill development, research through technology.
